Resplandor de Vida or “Brilliance of Life” is the name given to the Children’s Home established in the outskirts of Juarez. As it is translated, we were inspired by the following scripture: “Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the LORD is risen upon thee.” Isaiah 60:1
“іLevántate! іResplandece! Porque ha llegado tu luz, y la Gloria de Jehovah ha resplandecido sobre ti.” Isaías 60:1
This mission includes the construction of two children’s dormitories, one of which is complete, a main building that consists of a dining hall, kitchen, directors’ home and staff housing. There is also a small medical clinic. The property is completely surrounded by a 9’ wall with two gates.
Until the second dormitory is finished, Dormitory #1 is being used for both boys and girls. It has been constructed with a dividing wall in the hallway so that each side is complete with children’s bedrooms, living room, bathrooms and staff apartments. On May 13, 2010, Resplandor de Vida received the Certificate of Occupancy for Dormitory #1 from the Mexican government.
As you can see from the photo here, there is much work left to be done on Dormitory #2. A remaining amount of $38,000 is needed to frame in the second story made of wood. Interior work will follow. The plans for this dormitory include on the first floor: accommodations for 25 children, two staff apartments, bathrooms, living rooms and a laundry room. The second floor includes: a library/study, counseling/prayer room, offices, staff meeting room and more housing.
Additional property has been purchased for the future vision of Resplandor de Vida which includes a community outreach center and a Christian school. This land has been cleared and has a 9’ wall built on 3 sides of it.
